April is Child Abuse Awareness Month

Did you know that in NC alone that 40 out of every 1,000 kids are the subject of a DSS child abuse investigation? We at Swain Community Outreach have partnered with AWAKE, a child advocacy center, serving Swain and Jackson Counties to help provide counseling to some children and families affected by abuse or neglect.
